How Long Do You Need to Stay in Turkey for All-on-4? Planning Both Trips, With a Buffer

Medically reviewed byDt. Beyza İlistir, DDS

Quick answer

Plan on about 5–7 days in Turkey for the first All-on-4 trip, or 6–8 days if both jaws are treated, and about 6–7 days for the second trip 3–6 months later. Book a return flight you can change. The things that most often extend a stay are a change of plan on surgery day, sore spots on the temporary bridge, and clinic closures over public holidays.

Key facts - First trip: about 5–7 days for one arch; about 6–8 days for both. - Second trip: about 6–7 days, 3–6 months later, for the final bridge. - Same-day temporary teeth need each implant to reach roughly 35–45 Ncm of insertion torque. If one does not, the plan changes on the day. - Swelling usually peaks in the first few days after surgery and settles over one to two weeks. - Turkey's two religious holidays, Ramazan Bayramı and Kurban Bayramı, move each year; check clinic opening days before booking.

Our All-on-4 guide explains the clinical steps in detail. This page is about planning the time around them.

How many days should you actually book?

The clinic's schedule is the minimum. Real trips need a little room on either side.

Trip Clinic minimum What we suggest booking Ticket
Trip 1, one arch 5 days 7 nights, arriving the day before the consultation Changeable return
Trip 1, both arches 6 days 8–9 nights Changeable return
Trip 2, final bridge 6 days 7–8 nights Changeable return

Arriving the day before matters more than it sounds. A late flight followed by an early CBCT leaves no slack if the first appointment runs long.

What can extend your stay?

Most delays come from a short list:

  • A change of plan on surgery day. If an implant does not reach enough torque for same-day teeth, the surgeon may replace it, add an implant or delay loading. That can add days, or change what you leave with.
  • Sore spots or bite problems on the temporary bridge. These are adjusted before you fly, and sometimes need an extra visit.
  • Infection around teeth being removed. Some clinics treat it first and operate a day or two later.
  • Both jaws on the same trip. Twice the surgery and twice the adjustment.
  • Laboratory time on the second trip. Clinics with an in-house laboratory usually finish faster.
  • Public holidays and weekends. Many clinics close for Ramazan Bayramı and Kurban Bayramı, whose dates move each year.

If a sinus lift or graft is part of the plan, the flying advice changes; our All-on-6 cost and grafting guide explains when.

When is it safe to fly home?

Ask your surgeon for their own rule, and do not book a flight before your review appointment. For All-on-4 without a sinus lift, most patients fly after the review at the end of the first week, once the bridge has been checked and swelling is settling. Take the clinic's emergency contact details and your medication with you. For waiting times after other procedures, see flying after dental treatment.

What happens between the two trips?

The 3–6 months at home are when the implants fuse with the bone. You wear the temporary bridge throughout, on a soft diet for the first weeks as the clinic advises. Avoid biting directly on the back of the bridge, and keep it clean underneath.

The second trip is booked when the clinic is satisfied the implants have integrated, so its date can move by a few weeks. For what both trips cost together, see our All-on-4 package price breakdown.

What should you confirm before buying flights?

  1. The day-by-day schedule for each trip, in writing.
  2. Whether the clinic is open on every day of your planned stay.
  3. What happens to the schedule if same-day teeth are not possible.
  4. Whether the laboratory is in-house.
  5. Who to contact after you fly home, and how fast they reply.
